Shining Cuckoo

With a its bright whistle and camouflage colouring, the Pipiwharauroa or Shining Cuckoo is more often heard than seen. A summer migrant, found throughout the country, and holding the distinction of Aotearoa’s only iridescent green bird, they are prolific contributors to the songbird populations in forest, bush, farmland and urban areas.

We usually have these colours in stock but please check before making a special trip. There is a much wider range of colours available to order which takes approx 2-4 weeks depending on the time of year.
