My name is Cathy Jane and I’m a NZ artist who creates intricate handmade embroidered sculptures inspired by nature.

Combining a lifelong obsession with all of nature’s creations with decades of experience in art & design, my artworks capture the beauty of NZ’s flora & fauna. Each artwork is made up of thousands of tiny stitches to represent a threaded network of my found specimens, that are as close as possible to the real thing.

I’m incredibly interested in New Zealand’s endemic bird species, and many of my works try to capture their beauty. I’m based in Dairy Flat in Auckland on a rural lifestyle property that is part of many hectares of wild native bush.
