Heather Anne Atkins
Heather Anne’s passion for working with clay began in her teens. In her late twenties she became an established New Zealand Potter based in Hawkes Bay.
Recipient of a national ceramic award in 1982. During her career the artist has enjoyed many memorable moments, however, the one that stands out in her mind: is having one of her hand-built traditional New Zealand pottery houses presented by the Governor General, Sir David Beattie, to the late Princess Diana, during the 1983 Royal New Zealand Tour’. The resulting thank you note from the Princess remains a treasured memento. Also a painter, the artist has art in collections world-wide.
Heather Anne Atkins, now works from her home studio in Auckland, and still happy to take on heritage house commissions.
