Robyn Kunin
For the last 35 years Robyn’s home has been in The Waitakere's, West Auckland, Aotearoa.
Full of colour, texture and birdsong, this environment creates constant inspiration and motivation for her compositions. A purpose built studio nestled alongside her home and garden has enabled her to develop her knowledge and skills with her chosen media. She now creates wall art, birds, vessels, fish and jewellery. Each piece is handmade, and many feature impressions of textured surfaces including plants, lace, embroidery and doilies. Women's work from the past takes on new lives in her retro informed pieces. Colour plays a large role in defining her work, from the brightly hued to the mute toned. Each glaze - like each piece - is unique and a humble tribute to the natural landscape which surrounds her.
