Coiffeur

Joan Grehan (1920-2007) was born in Whanganui and went overseas as a teenager to expand her experiences. Returning to her hometown from France in 1996 to become an active community member and mentor, she left a major legacy through the Sarjeant Gallery which holds many of her works focusing on women, nature, and life experiences across various media, including drawings, paintings, and prints. 

This fantastic, vibrant painting is a fun abstract depiction of a woman at her Coiffeur.
