
Ika Earrings | Lagoon
Ika is the Māori word for fish (any aquatic animal in fresh or salt water). A tapu (sacred) activity, Māori fishermen would offer prayers to Tangaroa and other gods, and when they caught the first fish they would return it to the sea, to thank Tangaroa.
Sterling silver lightweight Ika, with engraved scales and kinetic tails. Hanging from sterling silver ear hooks. Measuring just over 4.5cm in length from the top of the ear hook.
