Pathfinder

$795.00 NZD

"My ceramic interpretation of the many stone cairns I have found in various places around the world. They are used for navigation and reference. Their connected concepts of unity and guidance towards common goals, especially in the Nepalese mountains inspired me to create this bridge between my travels and clay."

Pathfinder has been constructed from:

  • 21 individual pieces
  • slab-built
  • using ceramic plugs and holes to connect the pieces together
  • 3 different types of raku clay: red, white, buff

For decorative purposes:

  • white and black sand
  • white and coloured slip
  • various bits and pieces of dried clay squeezed into the individual pieces
  • olive, black and white underglaze to screen-print parts of Nepalese prayer flags onto some of the pieces.

Measures : 650 x 330 x 180 mm
