Pounamu Whale Tooth

This traditional Maori carved Whale Tooth features Arahura Inanga Greenstone from the Arahura River in Hokitika on the South Island’s West Coast. Pounamu is Maori for New Zealand Greenstone or Jade. Chris Pryor (Ngati Waewae) is the carver behind Two Donald's Greenstone who seeks to combine excellent carving with contemporary style.

The whale tooth or Rei Puta are significant taonga (treasures) representing wisdom, mana (prestige), strength and knowledge.
